The Woodland Park Miniature Railway
A short history by Peter Scott. This is a rare 15-inch railway that very few people will have heard of. It was built in the 1920s in a piece of wood on the banks of the River Medway in Kent, close to Rochester, Gillingham and Maidstone but crucially on the wrong side of the river and only accessible by ferry for most people. It looked as though the site would become a popular tourist spot, but it faded away and so did the railway after a brief flowering. Like all of Peter Scott’s ‘Mini Histories’ series it is entirely free to download
