A very interesting issue of Miniature Railway, covering the closure of Knebworth Park and Weston-super-Mare, memories of Chessington Zoo and Queen Mary’s Hospital and a reborn Joys of Life Miniature Railway in Bethesda
Description
Weston-super-Mare Miniature Railway
A busy little line, and a vibrant part of the seafront scene, killed off by local authority bungling.
Knebworth Miniature Railway
Another sad farewell to a much-loved friend.
Queen Mary’s Hospital Railway
One of these legendary places. It wasn’t there long, and it didn’t really go anywhere, but it was 10.25″ and it was home to some classic locomotives for a few brief wonderful years.
Joys of Life Miniature Railway
A much happier tale. This extensive 5-inch gauge railway had been abandoned for years until a young enthusiast asked if he could help restore it and it was brought back to life. That was back in 2008 (see MR6). This is the 2013 update
