From Peter Scott’s Mini Histories series, The Hunstanton Miniature Railways tells the story of the two railways that ran in the town through the 1950s
Description
The Hunstanton Miniature Railway
A short history by Peter Scott on the Pier and South Beach miniature railways in Hunstanton, Norfolk. Hunstanton had two miniature railways, one on the pier, and the other on the South Beach. As so often, neither lasted long, but the pier line has the most interesting history, being damaged in the terrible storm surge of 1953, and going on to play a starring role in the 1957 film ‘Barnacle Bill’. Interesting, very readable, and like all of Peter Scott’s ‘Mini Histories’ series entirely free to download
