1. • We thought we’d covered some rare subjects in MR44, but we’ve a cracking contents this time.
   • Photographs of the Lakeside Miniature Railway at Alexandra Palace are rare, but we have some previously unseen images taken from 1950s cine film, and long forgotten details on the tragic accident that befell the railway.
   • How about the Halton Tank. You’re forgiven if you’ve never heard of it – there aren’t many about and the story is not widely known.
   • Or a short article on a new Class 08 shunter for the 9-inch gauge… yes, almost unique (there are two lines in the UK and another two thought to exist overseas).
   • Then we have details of a new 7 1/4-inch gauge railway taking shape at Glenfinnan in the Scottish Highlands, and information on our tribute to Dave Holroyde… a new digital database of British miniature locomotives.

Miniature Railway is a 52-page A5 magazine. Launched in 2006, the magazine was originally published three times a year. There are now four issues a year, and they sell around the world. The magazine aims to cover all ride-on miniature railways, from 5-inch gauge to 15-inch gauge. Plus what might be termed as ‘light narrow gauge’ too.
